I've been crafting my own spells lately and I thoroughly believe that they work better than the spells you can find on the internet or in a book. All you need is your preferred kind of magick, some creativity and willpower. it's not easy, but i LOVE it! use the Wiccan Reede (which is posted on my page for your convenience :*), it helps in the ways of crafting spells. I really like to use candle magick and that's just a gut instinct for me. I've got a few left to try, but the ones i have tried honestly make me feel powerful and closer to the Goddess. if anyone reading this wants help or advice, i don't consider myself an expert, but i can give some pointers. I have decided that there's no such thing as true love.

true love is a phantom that, frankly, does not exist. True love these days is complicated, nothing about it is fairy tale, romantic or true. love is hard. it's work, it's nothing to be messed around with. Once upon a time there was a thing called "true love" where nothing mattered but person a and person b. they saw nothing but each other, they knew no hatred for one another, they never doubted each other, their word was sacred.

today, doubt fills the hearts of many, trust is gone. today, lust reins over love. people can't turn their cheeks against lies and accusations. true love can't reign in a world where people won't open their hearts, where people have been burned too many times to recover fully. 

I do not believe in true love. there's simply no such thing. unconditional love between two people (other than family) simply does not exist. forgiveness needs to play a part, forget needs to work its magick. true love may have once existed, but is now just a fairy tale.

what spawned this? I was watching a movie when the very end came on (the only part i saw, really) and the woman and the man had a short conversation and started making out on screen. i could tell something bad had happened between them because there was an awkwardness that only happens when something bad has happened between two people. the two people just started kissing as though the forgiveness didn't need to happen, the long conversation of where to live or finances didn't matter, just the love they felt. i got up and walked away. that simply doesn't happen in the real world! there's so much more to love than just kissing! true love doesn't exist, and unless someone proves to me that it does, i'm anti-love.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go,burn them fast and burn them slow.  Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might,in the fire it brings the God's insight.  Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.    Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.  White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.  Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.  Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins,it's now Samhain. When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins top turn soon the Beltane fires burn.  As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.  When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the Spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.  When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumnal Equinox does fall.   Heed the flower,bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.  When you have and hold a need, harken not to other's greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.  Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.  When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

I was laying in bed tonight when the strongest feeling of needing to cast a protection spell came over me. Since I have no books of my own yet (I've been practicing with a friend who's moving to Spain and am finding solitary practice more difficult than I thought) I didn't know where to turn. Maybe a cry for help? Maybe not. If anyone who's reading this knows of any good books I'd love the suggestion. I've pretty much been writing my own spells, but it would be nice to read others' views on rituals and such. The journey has been a rough one, but I believe with some reading, hard work and practice I can accomplish the favor of the Goddess. This may sound absolutely wonky, but this is a journal. Thanks to anyone who knows any good books! I'll be going to Barnes and Noble (I'm in a smallish town for the school year and summer... we have to plan our trips to B&N) tomorrow to look at books and later in August I'll be going to the Twin Cities for an Occult store tour with my practicing sister. I can't wait!
